- 4,039 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Delhi in last 24 hours, marking the biggest one-day jump so far and taking the total number of cases to 2,01,174.
- After the Blue and Pink line, the Violet, Red and Green line metro also started from today. The first metro at Raja Nahar Singh Station Ballabhgarh at 7 am on the Violet Line left for Kashmiri Gate Metro Station in Delhi. Services on other lines also started at 7 am.
- A separate team will now be formed in every police station of Delhi Police to challan Covid-19 while the rest of the police personnel of the police station will work to stop crime.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that efforts are being made to provide an online delivery platform to street food vendors.

- Punjab government has issued guidelines to be implemented from September 9-30, as per which, curfew would remain imposed only on Sundays in all the 167 municipal towns and no curfew to be imposed on Saturdays.
- Rafale, a modern fighter aircraft purchased from France, will be inducted into the Air Force along with Sarvadharma Pooja at the Ambala Airforce Station on 10 September. There will be worship according to Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian religions. In addition to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, there will also be French Defense Minister Florence Parle.
