Colombo, July 13 (UNI) Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on Wednesday ordered to impose curfew in the Western Province and also emergency law across the country with immediate effect. Wrong estimates by SL Treasury: Central Bank

Colombo, May 25 : Sri Lanka’s Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe has told the Committee on Public Finance (COPE) that the Treasury has misled Parliament by submitting wrong estimates. “Unrealistically high revenue estimate was sent to Parliament. On that basis, they estimate the expenditure which cannot be cut. I do not believe these officers, those who are in the Treasury did not know that this was unrealistic. Knowing this was unrealistic they misled Parliament by submitting wrong estimates,” he told COPE.
