New Delhi, May 9 : The Supreme Court on Monday refused to interfere with the petitions seeking direction into the matter concerning demolition in Shaheen Bagh area to remove encroachment. While refusing to interfere with the petitions filed by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and others, the Supreme Court said that none of the affected parties are before the Court and the petition has been filed by a political party. "Don't make this Court a platform for all this," the Bench, headed by Justice L Nageswara Rao and also comprising Justice B R Gavai, told the petitioners. "This is too much", it observed and refused to entertain the CPI(M)'s petition against anti-encroachment drive in Shaheen Bagh and other parts of Delhi. The Apex Court rather asked all such petitioners to approach the Delhi High Court for relief.

New Delhi, May 28 (UNI) The Delhi High Court on Friday declined a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking an order to stop media trial and reporting in wrestler Sushil Kumar's case, considering the rights of the accused. The petitioner Shrikant Prasad sought to restrain the media from 'declaring him guilty 'even before the decision of the trial court.

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) A Delhi court on Saturday dismissed a plea by police seeking five more days of custodial interrogation of businessman and restaurateur Navneet Kalra who is under arrest for allegedly black-marketing oxygen concentrators. Kalra, who was produced before Metropolitan Magistrate Vasundhra Azad virtually from Mandoli jail told the court that Police have also got concentrators from him and that it was because of his timely intervention 'many lives were saved.'

New Delhi, May 14 (UNI) The Delhi High Court on Friday refused to grant any interim protection to businessman and restaurateur Navneet Kalra in connection with the oxygen concentrator black marketing case registered against him by the Delhi Police. The bench of Justice Subramonium Prasad adjourned the anticipatory bail plea filed by Kalra for further hearing on May 18.

New Delhi, May 13 (UNI) The Delhi High Court on Thursday dismissed the plea alleging hoarding of oxygen cylinders by Food and Supplies Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Imran Hussain after verification of documents. A bench of justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli dismissed the petition and said that it is not inclined to proceed any further. The court was hearing a plea to stop the alleged 'unauthorised, unlawful, and arbitrary distribution' of oxygen cylinders by Hussain in his constituency Ballimaran.

New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) The Delhi High Court on Wednesday stressed that it is high time that the government fix the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) payable for oxygen concentrators and other equipment used to treat COVID-19 to prevent their black marketing. A Bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli observed while issuing contempt notices to all the persons named in the FIRs lodged after May 2 in connection with hoarding and black marketing of medicines and equipment required for treating COVID-19 and directed them to appear before it virtually on May 19.

New Delhi, May 10 (UNI) The Delhi High Court will hear on Tuesday the plea seeking an interim stay on the construction work underway for the Central Vista project in New Delhi. A bench headed by Chief Justice DN Patel and comprising Justice Jasmeet Singh agreed to hear the matter on May 11 after Advocate Sidharth Luthra, appearing for the petitioners, informed the bench about the Supreme Court order.

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) The Delhi High Court on Tuesday sought response from the Centre on a petition challenging the constitutional validity of the new Information Technology Rules to regulate digital media. A division bench headed by Chief Justice DN Patel after issuing notice to the Centre on the plea moved by Indian news and opinion website, The Wire, posted the matter to be heard on April 16.

New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) Justices Jasmeet Singh and Amit Bansal on Wednesday took oath as the new Delhi High Court judges. Delhi High Court Chief Justice D N Patel administered them the oath of office. The judges of the High Court and family members of Justices Singh and Bansal attended the swearing-in ceremony. The Centre had notified their appointment on February 22.

New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) A Delhi court on Wednesday sought a response from Delhi Police on the anticipatory bail application of activist Shantanu Muluk, who is accused along with Bengaluru-based climate activist Disha Ravi and lawyer Nikita Jacob in the 'toolkit' case.
