New Delhi, Nov26 (UNI) India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday said that in wake of severe cyclone Nivar, a fairly widespread to widespread rainfall and thunderstorm activity expected with heavy to very heavy falls at a few places with isolated extremely heavy falls likely to occur over Chittoor, Kurnool, Prakasam; Cuddappa districts of Andhra Pradesh and adjoining southeast Telangana and heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places likely over north Tamilnadu, remaining districts of Andhra Pradesh and southeast Telangana.

SW Monsoon likely to make complete withdrawal by Oct 28

New Delhi, Oct 26 (UNI) India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said that with setting in of northeasterly winds in the lower tropospheric levels over Bay of Bengal and extreme south peninsular India, the Southwest Monsoon is likely to make complete withdrawal around October 28.

IMD commissions Flash Flood Guidance Services for South Asia

New Delhi, Oct 23 (UNI) India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday commissioned the dedicated Flash Flood Guidance Services (FFGS), first of its kind for South Asian countries namely India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka, an official release said here on Friday.
