Srinagar, Nov 29 : Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday called the repeal of farm laws without any discussion as "a new model of democracy for a new India". The Lok Sabha passed the Bill to repeal the farm laws without any discussion during the first day of the 25-day Winter session of Parliament that began. The Bill would be taken up in the Rajya Sabha for its clearance.

Shimla/Kullu, Sep 13 : Congress held a Jan Aakrosh rally at Dhalpur ground in Kullu district on Monday to protest against new farm laws and price rise. Thousands of party office bearers and workers took part in the rally which was attended by the HPCC chief Kuldeep Singh Rathore, Senior leader Kaul Singh Thakur, leader of Opposition in state assembly Mr Mukesh Agnihotri, Kuldeep Kumar, Local MLA Sunder Singh Thakur and other party leaders.

New Delhi, Aug 5 (UNI) Protests continued in Lok Sabha on Thursday and the House was adjourned for the third time till 1600 hrs. A Bill for establishing a Central University in Ladakh was also introduced. The House was adjourned till 1600 hrs within minutes of meeting.

New Delhi, Jul 29 : The bill seeking to help MSMEs by broadening the scope of entities undertaking factoring is scheduled to be taken up by Rajya Sabha on Thursday amid fears of uproar by Opposition party members. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman would move the Factoring Regulation (Amendment) Bill,2021 for consideration of the Upper House. It has already been passed by the Lok Sabha.

New Delhi, Mar 22 (UNI) The Lok Sabha on Monday passed the Insurance (Amendment) Bill, 2021 by voice vote. The Bill seeks to amend the Insurance Act, 1938 which will increase the limit of foreign investment allowed in Indian insurance companies.

New Delhi, Mar 15 (UNI) President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Duarte Pacheco, called on Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla at the Parliament House on Monday. On this occasion, Lok Sabha Speaker told Mr. Duarte Pacheco that no Parliament should discuss laws passed by other Parliaments and issues internal of other sovereign countries.

New Delhi, Feb 10 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reply to the motion of thanks on the President's address at 1600 hrs on Wednesday in the Lok Sabha, the Prime Minister's Office said. President Ram Nath Kovind had addressed the Joint Session of the Parliament in the Central Hall on January 29.
