New Delhi, Mar 15 (UNI) The Railways on Monday said video circulated on social media that special trains currently operational from March 31, 2021 will be cancelled are misleading. 'Wrong news clips are being circulated in social media. All may please be informed that the video being circulated is last year's news being peddled today,' Ministry of Railways said in a statement. Indian Railways has not made any such announcement. Express trains and suburban trains currently operational as special trains will continue to run. It is also requested that the passengers may follow covid protocol while travelling.

Indian Railways registers highest-ever loading figure in January 2021

New Delhi, Feb 9 (UNI) Indian Railways has registered highest-ever loading figure 119.79 MT in January 2021, indicating fast moving economic upswing. The last best was in March 2019 as 119.74 MT. Indian Railways' Freight loading for the last few months have crossed last year's loading and earnings for the same period, Ministry of Railways said in a statement on Tuesday. It is expected that cumulative freight loading will surpass last year’s freight loading figures.

New Delhi, Oct 15 (UNI) As a further support and incentive for the farmers using the services of Kisan Rail, Ministry of Railways and Ministry of Food Processing Industries have decided that the 50 per cent subsidy on transportation of notified fruits and vegetables (under ‘Operation Greens – TOP to Total’ scheme of MoFPI) shall be granted directly to Kisan Rail – for which MoFPI will provide necessary funds to Ministry of Railways. This subsidy has become applicable of Kisan Rail trains with effect from October 14.
