Amarinder extends restrictions in Punjab till May 31

Chandigarh, May 16 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Sunday ordered extension of all the existing restrictions up to May 31, with directions for strict enforcement of all the curbs. The Chief Minister said the DCs will continue to determine opening of shops in a staggered manner and enforce other restrictions to check spread of Covid, especially in rural areas. They can also make suitable amendments based on local condition as long as these do not dilute the state’s overall restrictions, said the Chief Minister.

Amarinder sets target of two lakh vaccinations per day

Chandigarh, Apr 7 (UNI) With Covid positivity and Case Fatality Rate (CFR) rates in Punjab hitting 7.7 per cent and 2 per cent respectively in the last week, Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Wednesday directed the health department to further increase the vaccination drive and target vaccinating 2 lakh patients per day. The Chief Minister also directed the officials to increase the sampling to 50,000 per day, besides vigorously pursuing contact tracing to 30 people per positive patient.

Chandigarh, Apr 4 (UNI) On eviction of an NGO of ex-servicemen helping the martyred soldiers and the families of soldiers from the office premises of the Sainik Sadan Complex in Mohali, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) took to task Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. In a statement issued from the party headquarters here on Sunday, AAP state president and MP Bhagwant Mann said Captain Amarinder Singh describes himself as an army soldier, but in reality he is not a real soldier. “Had he been a true soldier, he would have felt the sorrow and pain of the families of the soldiers who were martyred at the border, but he does not have the slightest feeling of their suffering,” he added.

Punjab : Amarinder announces Shagun hike for daughters of construction workers

Chandigarh, Jan 23 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has announced a hike from Rs 31,000 to Rs 51,000 in the Shagun amount for the marriage of daughters of construction workers in Punjab from April 1, 2021, while also approving Rs 1500 in financial aid to such workers or their family members who test positive for Covid. This was decided by the Chief Minister while chairing the 27th meeting of the Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Welfare Board through Video Conference on Friday evening.
