To celebrate the “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” today on 22/09/2021 Dean Student Welfare, SKUAST-Jammu in collaboration with Blood Transfusion Medicine, Govt. Medical College Jammu and NSS, SKUAST-Jammu organized painting competition to commemorate the voluntary Blood Donation Day. The event was organized under the able leadership of Prof. J. P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu. The welcome address was delivered by Dean Student Welfare. Speaking on the occasion DSW threw light on the importance of blood donation for saving precious life. Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta, Medical Officer Emphasized the need of awareness about blood donation as it is good habit to keep a person healthy as well as helps for saving precious lives. Dr. Naveen
Akhtar from Blood transfusion Department GMC also spoke on the occasion. A large number of students participated in the event as well as in painting competition. The winner will be felicitated on 1 st October 2021 on the occasion of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day scheduled to be held in Bawa Jitto Auditorium, SKUAST-J, in which
blood donation camp will be organized. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Subhash C Kashyap, NSS Coordinator & Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta, Medical Officer. NSS Instructors from Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Veterinary sciences and Animal Husbandary who supervised the painting competition includes Dr. Akhil Gupta, Dr.
Arvinder Singh, Dr. Dibendu Chakraborthy, Dr. Nomita Laishram, Dr. Aditi Lal Koul, Dr. Kawardeep Kour, Dr. Sushma Dadhich & Dr. Balbir Dhotra.
