PM likely to be ‘virtually’ present in Bengal Durga pooja pandals

New Delhi, Oct 12 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to be heard virtually addressing Durga Puja revellers at select Pandals across Bengal on October 22 (Mahashasthi).
According to BJP sources on Monday, a proposal in this regard from the Bengal unit of the party, has been sent to the Prime Minister, which is being “considered” by the PM.
” We have sent a proposal to Modiji and are awaiting his response. His speeches, including on ‘Mann Ki Baat, draw a lot of enthusiasm. This prompted us to plan such an address by him during ‘Devi Bodhan (Invocation),” Bengal BJP vice-president Raju Banerjee said.
Reports from Bengal informed that as the pandemic is expected to make inaugurations a low-key affair this time, the BJP state unit is “juggling strategies” to increase ‘visibility’ during the festival.
“Our physical presence may be less, but not party visibility. For starters, we are planning the PM’s e-address and stalls at as many pandals as possible,” Mr Banerjee said.
The “plan” of Bengal BJP to ‘rope in’ the PM for e-address during Durga Puja is being ‘welcomed’ by all quarters.
