Puducherry, Sep 3 (UNI) Former Puducherry legislator and state president of the Makkal Neethi Maiam(MNM) Dr MAS Subramanian died here on Thursday morning. He was 70 and survived by his daughter.
Dr Subramanian was infected by Corona Virus Disease a few days back and was admitted to a private hospital here and the end came around 6-45 hours today.
Dr Subramanian won the election in a DMK ticket and was a member of the legislative assembly from Mudalairpet for 2001 to 2006 and from 2006 to 2011. Earlier, he was an AIADMK member from 1985 to 1990 from Ariyankuppam constituency.
He held the post of the DMK convener from 2012-14 and was appointed as the president of the MNM in 2018.
