Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah, West Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankar and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday separately appealed to people of West Bengal to exercise their voting rights in large numbers and peacefully.

The state was having 2nd phase polling for 30 seats across four districts of Bankura, West and East Medinipur and parts of South 24 Parganas.
” Urging the people of West Bengal in whose seats there is polling
taking place today to vote in record numbers,” Mr Modi said in his twitter accont.
Similarly, Mr Shah said ” As the voting for the 2nd phase begins in
West Bengal, I appeal to everyone to vote in large numbers.

Your one vote can bring decisive change. So, come out and vote for a
safer and prosperous Bengal.”
Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar said ” Voter is the supreme stakeholder in
the democratic process. Let all @WBPolice @HomeBengal facilitate voters in an exemplary manner. Distinct change discernible in First Phase needs to be nurtured in this and subsequent phases.

Appeal all to positively cast a vote as it is all-important.” Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee, who is contesting from Nandigram, said,” I call upon the people of Bengal to exercise their democratic right by coming out and voting in large numbers.”
