V-P greets people on 71st Constitution Day

New Delhi, Nov 26 (UNI) Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday greeted the people on the occasion of 71st Constitution Day. In a message, he recalled what the framer of the Constitution had said that the Constitution was not “a mere lawyers document, it is a vehicle of Life, and its spirit is always the spirit of Age.”

“On this important day, let us all reaffirm our faith in the principles enshrined in the Constitution and make India the nation that our founding fathers had envisioned,” he said.

Also known as National Law Day, the day is celebrated every year in India on November 26 to mark the adoption of the Constitution of India. On this day in 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on January 26, 1950.
