Sensex crashed 1457.16 points during week

Mumbai, Sep 26 (UNI) Sensex tumbled 1,457.16 points or 3.75 pc to settle at 37,388.66 in the week under review on weak global cues.

Concerns over the potential worsening of the coronavirus pandemic, uncertainty on further US fiscal stimulus and tensions between the U.S. and China nudged investors away from risk asset.

The Nifty 50 index dropped 454.70 points to settle at 11,050.25. The BSE Mid-Cap cracked 711.12 or 4.73 pc to settle at 14,336.68 and the BSE Small-Cap tanked 804.40 points or 5.26 pc to settle at 14,495.58.

On Monday the BSE Sensex, fell 811.68 points at 38,034.14 while the Nifty lost 254.40 points to settle at 11,250.55.

On Tuesday, the BSE Sensex, eased 300.06 points to settle at 37,734.08. Nifty lost 96.90 points to settle at 11,153.65.

On Wednesday, the BSE Sensex, fell 65.66 points to settle at 37,668.42. Nifty lost 21.80 points to settle at 11,131.85.

On Thursday, extending losses to the sixth day amid a global sell-off. The trading was volatile due to the F&O expiry. Sensex crashed 1,114.82 points to settle at 36,553.60. The Nifty slumped 326.30 points to settle at 10,805.55.

On Friday, the BSE Sensex jumped 835.06 points to settle at 37,388.66 snapping a losing streak of last six sessions. Nifty too surged 244.70 points to settle at 11,050.25.
