Sensex ends steady at 53,177.45 pts

Mumbai, The BSE Sensex on Tuesday ended flat at 53,177.45, rising by 16.17 pts as buying was seen in Energy, Oil and Gas and Auto stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose 18.15 pts at 15,850.20.
The Sensex opened weak at 52,846.26, fell by 315 pts. During the session, it was dropped 390 pts at 52,771.53.
In late trade it was slightly recovered and ended positive at 53,177.34, up by 16.17 pts from its previous close.
The Sensex registered days high and low at 53,301.40 and 52,771.53 pts respectively.
The Nifty recorded days high and low at 15,892.10 and 15,710.15 respectively.
The sectoral indices like Energy, Oil and Gas, Auto and Realty gave support to the market.
In scrips, M&M was top gainer, up by 2.84 pc to Rs 1112 followed by Reliance Industries by 1.58 pc to Rs 2531.20, Tata Steel by 1.56 pc to Rs 881.30, Dr Reddy’s Lab by 1.41 pc to Rs 4377.95 and HCL Technology by 1.33 pc to Rs 1005.
The losers were Asian Paints by 3.50 pc to Rs 2722, Titan by 3.39 pc to Rs 1971, Bajaj Finserv by 1.94 pc to Rs 11,370 and Kotak Bank by 1.34 pc to Rs 1668.10.
The Mid Cap rose by 0.18 pc and Small Cap by 0.24 pc.
In 30 scrips, 18 advanced while 12 declined.
A positive trend was seen in Asian Market as China was up 0.89 pc and Hong Kong by 0.61 pc, while Australia was up 0.87 pc,
