HP: Offline classes start for 8th class students

Hamirpur (HP), Oct 11: Along with offline classes for the students of 8th class, the schools in Himachal Pradesh were started on a six day week basis from Monday onwards.

Nearly five lakh students of the state studying in government and private schools joined the classes from today amid SOP’s formulated by the Government agencies for the Educational institutions.

Earlier, students from 9th to 12th classes were going to schools in shifts, i.e. first three days for the students of 10th and 12th classes and next three days for the students of 9th and 11th classes.

There were no morning assemblies and Prarathna (religious songs) during the morning hours. Instead, students were screened thoroughly and those found suffering from cold or coughs were told to return to their homes.

An official spokesman of the HP Education Department said that after every period, the hands of the students were washed with soap and water.

He said that the attendance was up to the mark but the exact position would be known only in the evening hours.

The spokesman, however, said that there were no studies in the schools where students have been found suffering from CORONAVIRUS. These schools have been closed for a limited period for sanitization and related works and those who were suffering from virus have been made to remain under Home isolation.
