Puducherry, Sep 19 (UNI) As many as 543 more persons were tested positive for Covid-19 and 11 patients died in the Union Territory since the last 24 hours. The total number of active cases, ending at 10 AM on Saturday, stood at 4799.
According to the COVID 19 status released by the health department here on Saturday, 425 new cases were reported in Puducherry region, 84 in Karaikal region, 28 in Yanam region and 6 in Mahe region.
As many as 494 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours. Of them, 377 were from Puducherry region, 67 from Karaikal region, 49 from Yanam region and one from Mahe region.
Of the eleven deaths, 8 were from Puducherry region and three in Karaikal region.
Presently 1439 patients were being treated in Puducherry region,103 in Karaikal region, 219 in Yanam region and 37 in Mahe region.
Another 3001 positive cases are under home isolation in all the four regions of the UT.
So far, 22,456 persons were infected by the virus and of which 17,209 were treated and discharged, 448 died and 4,799 patients were being treated in hospitals and home isolation
