Chhattisgarh witnesses record 2296 fresh Coronavirus cases in 24 hours

Raipur, Sep 2 (UNI) For the first time Chhattisgarh has registered a record breaking number of 2296 fresh Coronavirus patients during the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile 653 patients who were undergoing treatment in various COVID hospitals across the state have recovered and they have returned to home after discharge .
However, Coronavirus has led to the death of 12 infected patients.
According to information received from health department, out of 2296 fresh Coronavirus positive patients maximum 976 belong to Raipur whereas 223 patients were found in Durg, 194 in Bilaspur, 157 in Raigarh, 101 in Rajnandgaon, 80 in Mahasamund, 67 in Balod, 59 in Dhamtari, 52 in Janjgir, 42 in Bastar, 41 in Baloda-Bazaar, 38 in Korba, 35 in Bijapur, 29 in Sarguja, 21 in Mungeli, 22 in Jashpur, 18 each in Sukma and Dantewada, 16 each in Gariaband, Kondagaon and Narayanpur, 15 in Koriya, 12 in Bemetara, 10 in Kawardha, 7 each in Balrampur and Kanker, 6 in Surajpur and 2 in Pendra. Moreover 13 patients have come from other states. Meanwhile 653 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovery. Twelve Coronavirus patients have also died. Two patients-one from Raipur and another from Durg have died in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur. Four patients from Raipur, one from Baloda-Bazaar, one from Balaghat (Madhya Pradesh), one from Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) and a 40-day old baby have died of Coronavirus in Raipur Medical College Hospital. A patient from Jagdalpur has died due to Coronavirus in Jagdalpur Medical College Hospital. A patient from Raigarh has died in district hospital while another from the same place has died in Jindal Hospital.
Total 609578 suspected Coronavirus patients were identified in the state and their samples were sent to labs for testing. Of them 35683 persons have tested positive for Coronavirus. At present 17164 active Coronavirus positive patients are undergoing treatment in various COVID hospitals across the state whereas 18220 patients have so far been discharged from various hospitals of the state. Coronavirus has also caused total 299 patients in the state so far.
