China says it expects India to keep peace with ‘positive actions’

New Delhi, Nov. 26(UNI) China on Thursday said it expects India to “maintain border peace and stability with sincere attitude and positive actions,” while the situation along the Line of Actual Control has remained stable since the last round of Corps Commander level talks on November 6.

“Since the 8th round of China-India Corps Commander Level Meeting, the situation in the China-India border areas has remained stable on the whole. China expects the Indian side to maintain border peace and stability with sincere attitude and positive actions,” said Senior Colonel Ren Guoqiang, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of National Defense, at a press conference in Beijing.

Responding to a query, Col. Ren said following the Corps Commander Level meeting, the two countries have maintained candid and in-depth communication and coordination to promote disengagement in areas along the Line of Actual Control in the western sector of China-India boundary.

Both sides agreed to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and ensure their frontline troops to exercise restraint and avoid misunderstanding and miscalculation.

“China is ready to maintain communication with the Indian side through military and diplomatic channels. We hope that the Indian side will work with China towards the same goal, implement bilateral consensus with a sincere attitude and positive actions, so as to jointly safeguard peace and stability in the border areas,” he said, according to a news release uploaded on the ministry website and accessed here.
