COVID-19 surge continues in Telangana, 13 fresh deaths reported till Thursday night

Hyderabad, Sep 11 (UNI) The COVID-19 surge continued in Telangana with the state recording 2,426 fresh positive cases pushing the cumulative case load to 1,52,602 till 2000 hours on Thursday night,while 13 more Coronavirus deaths were registered in the last 24 hours taking the overall toll to 940 so far.

The case fatality rate in the state stood at 0.61 per cent as against the National mortality rate of 1.67 per cent, a state health department bulletin said on Friday.

Between Wednesday and Thursday, 2,324 patients had recovered taking the total recoveries to 1,19,467 till date constituting a recovery rate of 78.2 per cent, while the country-wide recovery rate was 77.63 per cent.

Of the 62,890 COVID-19 sample tests conducted in the past 24 hours, the reports of 2,242 were awaited, the bulletin said, adding that the total number of COVID-19 tests carried out in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic was 20,16,461.

The districts which reported more than 100 positive cases during the last 24 hours were

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits (338), Ranga Reddy district (216), Medchal Malkajigiri district (172), Nalgonda district (164) and Karimnagar district (129).

The other districts in the state reported the remaining new cases, the bulletin added.
