Cyclone Burevi: Amit Shah assures all possible help from Centre to TN, Kerala

New Delhi, Dec 3(UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday assured all possible help from the Centre to Tamil Nadu and Kerala in the wake of cyclone Burevi.
Taking to Twitter, he said, “Have spoken to Tamil Nadu CM Shri @EPSTamilNadu and Kerala CM Shri @vijayanpinarayi in the wake of Cyclone Burevi. Modi government is committed for all possible support to help people of Tamil Nadu and Kerala”.
Several teams of NDRF are already deployed in both the states, he added in his message.
Severe Cyclone Burevi is likely to make a landfall in coastal areas of Tamil Nadu Thursday afternoon or by late evening.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Cyclonic Storm “Burevi” lay centred at 0530 IST of 3rd Dec over Sri Lanka coast near lat 9.0 N & long 80.3 E about 40 km east of Mannar, 120 km east-southeast of Pumban and 320 km east-northeast of Kanniyakumari, is likely to emerge into Gulf of Mannar during next 3 hrs.
The cyclonic storm with wind speed of 70-80 gusting to 90 kmph would be centered very

close to Pamban around noon of 3rd December. It would then move nearly west-southwestwards across Pamban area by afternoon and cross south Tamil Nadu coast between Pamban and Kanniyakumari during 3rd December night and 4th December early morning as a Cyclonic Storm with wind speed of 70-80 gusting to 90 kmph.
Thus its impact on south Tamil Nadu coastal districts is very likely to commence from December 3 and the ongoing rain fall in South Tamil Nadu will continue with heavy rainfall and in isolated case extremely heavy rainfall.
