Delhi police allows agitating farmers to enter Delhi, hold peaceful protest at Nirankari Ground

New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) Delhi Police on Friday afternoon permitted a large number of farmers along the Punjab-Haryana border to enter the National Capital to stage a peaceful protest against the three farmer laws at the Nirankari Ground Burari.

The police have appealed to the farmers to maintain peace and said that it will escort them safely to the Nirankari Grounds in Burari from the border, where they can assemble and hold their protest.

The decision was taken after talks between the police officials and farmer leaders who had assembled at the Singhu Border between Haryana and Delhi where large number of farmers had come from Punjab and Haryana as per the ‘Chalo Dilli’ call given by the farmer organisations on November 26 and 27 in view of voicing their demands to take back the three new agriculture laws which they called anti-farmer.

There was blockage on highways leading to Delhi due to the farmer rally marches leading to the capital since Thursday.
