Delhi’s pollution problem can be solved if political parties and governments work together: Kejriwal

New Delhi, Oct 19 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said that if all governments and political parties work together keeping their differences aside then the pollution in the national capital can be brought under control within a period of four years.
Interacting with the media through video conferencing, Kejriwal said that if all the governments come together in the fight against pollution and put up joint efforts and campaigns, then the end to this menace of pollution here can be possible in less than four years time.
If the efforts by all governments are honest then the pollution caused by stubble burning can be curbed in very less time.
He said that smoke due to stubble burning adds and becomes one of the prominent factor for rise in pollution across north India.
He further requested Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar that every month he must have a meeting with the CMs of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and work towards chalking out a solution for the problem.
Kejriwal added that with the use of scientific methods, stubble can be transformed from burden to opportunity, but all governments will have to leave politics and sit together to discuss these measures.
Delhi CM said that the Union Environment Minister has said the pollution cannot be cured in a day, it will take at least four years, but, Kejriwal added saying that he does not agree with the environment minister on this, and further said he thinks if all governments leave politics and work together against pollution, then the problem can be solved in less time.
