Former MP Ramkrishna Baba Patil passes away

Aurangabad, Sep 2(UNI) Senior Congress leader and former MP Ramkrishna Baba Patil passed away in a private hospital here on Wednesday following illness.He was 91.

Patil was suffering from Diabetes and undergoing treatment since last week, family sources said.He started his career in politics from the post of Sarpanch in 1970 at Dahegaon village in the Vaijapur taluka and became an MLA from Vaijapur taluka in Aurangabad in 1985.

In 1999, he was elected as MP from Aurangabad constituency on a Congress ticket.He was also the Chairman of the Panchayat Samiti and completed 25 years as Chairman of District Bank. Baba also served as the Director of Maharashtra State Cop-Aap Bank in Mumbai for five years.

Patil had vast knowledge in agriculture sector and to learn the changes in agriculture sector, he had gone to California, USA in 1994 .

Getting a news of his demise, different parties condoled his death .The last rites are to be held this evening at Dahegaon, sources said.He is survived by two sons and two daughters.
