Hideout busted in Poonch, arms, ammunition recovered

Jammu, Sep 2 (UNI) Joint teams of security forces have busted a terrorist outfit and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police sources here on Wednesday said that based on specific inputs, a joint team of Indian Army, BSF and J&K Police on Tuesday night launched a search operation in Sahuwali Forest area Khanetar in Poonch district and busted a hideout.
The team recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition, which included two Chinese Pistols, five Pistol Magazines, one Japanese Binocular, two ICOM Radio Sets, four Handgrenades, AK Rounds (270), five AK Magazines and 50 Pistol Rounds, they said.
Sources further said that the input comes in the backdrop of increased activity along the Line of Control and the enemy’s attempt to destabilise the hinterland of Poonch district.
“Such a large recovery highlighted the alertness of the Security Forces and thwarted the nefarious designs of the anti-national elements,” police said.
