Mask compulsory in Thane dist

Thane, Sep 12 (UNI) Following a spike of Covid-19 cases in Thane district, the district administration has decided to strictly implement wearing masks at public place, otherwise a fine of Rs 500 will be imposed.

In fact, the use of face mask was made compulsory at the start of the pandemic and the authorities were very strict in the implementation of the same and collected fines too.
But later on account of the lifting of the lockdown in a phased manner and mission begin again the citizens took easy and started moving freely without the mask.

In an order issued on Friday night, the Thane Municipal Commissioner Dr Vipin Sharma has said that this was necessitated due to the rapid increase of the cases in the city.

Similar instructions have been also issued in the other Municipal Corporations in the district a couple of days back where the fine amount remains Rs. 500.

In Palghar district too the district administration and the civic bodies have issued a warning to the citizens and asked them to use the face masks in public places.
