A fierce encounter between security forces and militants took place on Monday afternoon in Kiri area of Baramulla district of North Kashmir. Two terrorists were killed in it. One of them emerged Sajjad Haider alias Jaja, the commander of Operation Lashkar-e-Taiba of North Kashmir. Hyder was the mastermind behind the killing of three BJP leaders in Bandipora. The death of Hyder is a great success for the security forces. There was a reward of 12 and a half lakh rupees on this. He was included in Number One of North Kashmir and Top Ten Terrorists of Kashmir
According to official sources, Hyder joined the LeT in 2016 and was handling the operational command of the LeT militant group in North Kashmir. He was Burhan Wani of North Kashmir. Hyder was the mastermind behind most of the major attacks in North Kashmir after 2016.
An official said that Hyder was entrusted with the operational command of Lashkar as well as the responsibility of involving local youths in the area and was doing all the work at the behest of the bosses in Pakistan. About 20 terrorists accompanying Hyder have been caught alive and its OGW module has also been uncovered.
