NGT orders ban on bursting crackers in Delhi-NCR

New Delhi, Nov 9 (UNI) The National Green Tribunal has completely put a ban on the use of crackers in Delhi and NCR.
The Green Court has issued the order keeping in view the serious levels of the Air Quality and has in its order said that which ever state in the country has bad air quality, which is under the dangerous category, there will be a ban on the use of crackers.
The NGT has put a ban on the use of crackers in Delhi-NCR upto November 30 midnight.
Places where the air quality is poor , very poor and severe , there will be a ban on the sale and use of crackers from November 9 to November 30, the court said.
However, places where the AQI is normal and satisfactory , the use of crackers would be allowed.
NGT has said that in those cities where the AQI is normal or satisfactory as compared to what it was in the month of November last year, only the use of green crackers will be allowed, and here too the use of crackers will be permitted for two hours on Diwali.
Other than this arrangement, bursting crackers will not be allowed on any other day.
Meanwhile, Delhi government has completely banned use of crackers , including green crackers.
The Delhiites are already reeling under and battling COVID and Pollution at the same time prior to Diwali.
