Sabarimala ‘Prasadam’ to be delivered home

Sabarimala (Kerala), Nov 22 (UNI) The Department of Posts has launched a ‘home delivery scheme’ to provide Sabarimala ‘Prasadam’ to devotees, Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) PRO Mr Sunil Arumanoor said on Sunday.
Under the scheme, a ‘Prasadam’ kit comprising one bottle ‘Aravana,’ 100ml ghee, sandalwood paste, ‘Vibhooti,’ ‘Kumkumam’ and turmeric, will be delivered to devotees’ homes through Speed Post for a fee of Rs 450, the PRO said in a press release.
The kit containing the Prasadam of Lord Ayyappa Temple in Sabarimala can be purchased directly from the major post offices and online through the postal department’s site.
These kits can be booked at post offices across the country. The Prasadam packet will be delivered by the speed post system. For speed post, air transportation also be used, he said.
The booking system is based on an agreement made by the Kerala Circle postal department with the Travancore Devaswom Board. The kit can be booked through e-payment from any post office in India.
According to the Postal Department, the kit will take a maximum of three days to be delivered to the homes by speed post. The Devaswom Board has said that devotees from other states can also use the Prasada kit service facility.
According to the Postal Department, the demand for Prasad kits through the postal department is increases. The postal department has decided to distribute Prasada kits to more places in the coming days.
