In Telangana, a senior police officer died of coronavirus on Wednesday, just prior to his retirement from service.
58 year old, K Dakshina Murthy, a additional Superintendent of Police of Jagtial district, contracted Covid-19 and was admitted to a private hospital a week ago, said police.
They said, while undergoing treatment for the viral infection, he died of a heart attack at around 5.30 am. The 1989 batch officer hails from Karimnagar and was due to retire by the end of this month.
He is survived by wife, son and two daughters. ” Dakshina Murthy was a dedicated police officer.
