Sensex still down 300.06 pts

Mumbai, Sep 22 (UNI) The Indian market was seen under pressure for the fourth consecutive session on Tuesday, as BSE Sensex dropped 300.06 pts to settle at 37,734.08 as selling was seen across the board amid negative global cues.

The nifty of national stock exchange too fell by 96.90 pts at 11,153.65 pts. Though the Sensex opened in green at 38,200.71, gaining by 166 pts. It jumped 175 pts to 38,209.97, days high. Later, it dropped 503 pts to 37,531.14, days low, before closing at 37,734.08, down by 300.06 pts from its previous close.

The sensex registered days high and low at 38,209.97 and 37,531.14 pts respectively. The Nifty recorded days high and low at 11,302.20 and 11,084.65 pts respectively.

The sectoral indices include Oil and Gas, Capital Goods, Industrials, Energy and Consumer Discretionary Goods and services kept the market negative.

In scrips, Maruti Suzuki, IbdusInd Bank, Axis Bank, L& T and ONGC declined while TCS, Sun Pharma, Tech Mahindra, ICICI Bank and Ultracemco moved up that capped from further slipped, broker informed.

The Mid Cap eased by 1.70 pc and Small Cap by 1.61 pc.

In 30 scrips, 21 declined while 9 advanced.
