SW Monsoon withdraws from country

New Delhi, Oct 28 (UNI) India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday said that the Southwest monsoon has withdrawn from the entire country on October 28 as there is significant reduction in rainfall activity.
Simultaneously with the setting in of northeasterly winds in the lower tropospheric levels, the northeast monsoon rains has commenced over extreme south peninsular India today, it added.
The national weather bureau also said that a cyclonic circulation lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal off north Tamil Nadu coast in lower and mid tropospheric levels and under this influence, scattered rainfall with moderate thunderstorm and lightning very likely over Kerala and Mahe and Tamilnadu and Puducherry during next five days with isolated heavy falls over south Tamil Nadu during next two days and over south Kerala during next 24 hours.
Dry weather expected over rest of the country during next four to five days, the IMD added.
