Telangana records 2,278 new COVID-19 positive cases,10 deaths in last 24 hours

Hyderabad, Sep 12 (UNI) With 2,278 new COVID-19 positive cases reported till Friday night, Telangana’s count of Coronavirus cases has reached 1,54,880 and the death toll shot up to 950 with ten deaths registered in the last 24 hours.

Between Thursday and Friday, 2,458 patients had recovered from the virus pushing the total number of recoveries in the state so far to 1,21,925 constituting a recovery rate of 78.7 per cent while the National recovery rate was 77.75 per cent, a state health department bulletin said here on Saturday.

The case fatality rate in the state stood at 0.61 per cent, while the country-wide mortality rate was 1.66 per cent, the bulletin said.

During the last 24 hours, 62,234 COVID-19 sample tests were conducted and of which the reports of 2,027 were awaited.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 20,78,695 COVID-19 sample tests had been conducted in the state till date.

The state now has 32,005 active cases.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits, as usual, contributed a maximum of 331 positive cases during the last 24 hours, while the other districts which reported more than 100 cases were Ranga Reddy (184), Medchal Malkajigiri (150), Nalgonda (126) and Karimnagar (121).
