Telangana reports 753 new COVID-19 positive cases, three fatalities until Friday night

Hyderabad, Nov 28 (UNI) Telangana’s COVID-19 cases reached 2,68,418 as the state saw 753 new Coronavirus cases until 2000 hours on Friday.

With three more COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, the number of fatalities in the state rose to 1,451 constituting a case fatality rate of 0.54 per cent as against the countrywide death rate of 1.5 per cent, a state health department bulletin said on Saturday.

As many as 952 people have recovered from Coronavirus between Thursday and Friday pushing the total number of recoveries in the state to 2,56,330 translating into a recovery rate of 95.49 per cent while the National recovery rate was 93.7 per cent.

The number of active cases in the state now stood at 10,637 including 8,459 individuals in home or institutional isolation.

Of the 41,991 swab samples tested to detect the contagious virus in the last 24 hours, the reports of 695 swab samples were awaited, the bulletin said.

In all, 53,74,141 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state till date since the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.

As usual, he Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation contributed a maximum of 133 positive cases in the last 24 hours followed by Medchal Malkajigiri district (78) and Ranga Reddy district (71).

The remaining COVID-19 cases were reported from other districts, the bulletin added.
