Congress Working Committee to meet over leadership debate on 24th August

Amid a discussion over the leadership issue in Congress, key Congress party leaders will meet on 24th August via video-conferencing and are likely to talk about the matter.
The Congress Working Committee, the highest decision making body of the party, will meet on Monday at 11 am, said K C Venugopal, AICC general secretary on Saturday.
“A meeting of the Congress Working Committee will be held on Monday, the 24th August, 2020 at 11.00 AM via video conferencing,” in a tweet he said.
All the permanent and special invitees have been invited to the CWC meeting, where the leadership matter is also expected to be discussed, besides the existing political situation in the country.
There has been uproar within a section of Congressmen for Rahul Gandhi to take charge as the president of the party again.
The Congress Working Committee meet comes close on the heels of Sonia Gandhi, Congress president, who is about to complete a year as the interim party chief, a post she accepted after her son Rahul Gandhi resigned last year.
Again a debate is raging in the Congress party over the uncertainty related to its leadership.
The Congress said in an official media briefing 2 days ago that its workers across the country want Rahul Gandhi to take charge of the party.
