Berlin/New Delhi, May 3 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said his Germany visit has been a productive one, and the talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz were extensive, as he left for Copenhagen on the second leg of his three-nation tour. In a tweet, the PM thanked the German Government for their hospitality. “My Germany visit has been a productive one. The talks with @Bundeskanzler Scholz were extensive and so were the Inter-Governmental Consultations. “I got a great opportunity to interact with business and Indian community leaders. I thank the German Government for their hospitality.” PM Narendra Modi later left for Denmark, on his first visit to the Nordic nation. He will hold talks with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen to take forward the unique bilateral Green Strategic Partnership. The meeting between PM Modi and his Danish counterpart will be the third summit level interaction between them. The Danish leader had visited India last year for summit level talks on the Green Strategic Partnership.

PM to visit Germany, Denmark and France in May

New Delhi, April 27 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay an official visit to Germany, Denmark and France from May 2 to May 4, the Ministry of External Affairs informed on Wednesday. This will be the Prime Minister's first visit abroad in 2022. In Berlin, Prime Minister will hold bilateral talks with Olaf Scholz, Federal Chancellor of Germany, and the two leaders will co-chair the sixth edition of the India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC), the Ministry said. The biennial IGC is a unique dialogue format that also sees participation of several Ministers from both sides.

Germany first team to qualify for 2022 World Cup

Berlin, May 18 (Sputnik) - Germany has been engaged with both Israel and people with ties to Hamas in an effort to end rocket fire across the Israeli-Gazan border, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said Tuesday. "I’ve been talking to my Israeli friend and colleague… and to colleagues from Jordan, Egypt and Qatar because we need both sides. We have been actively talking to our Israeli friends and those in direct contact with Hamas, especially our colleagues in Cairo," he said. Germany wants that "weapons fall silent" to prepare for direct negotiations between the warring parties, Maas said ahead of the informal virtual meeting of EU foreign ministers. The Israel Defense Forces and the Palestinian militants have exchanged fire for more than a week. The increase in violence, the worst in years, has killed 10 people in Israel and 220 in Gaza, almost a fourth of them children.

Germany records 1,378 new COVID-19 cases, total reaches 2,48,997

Moscow, Sep 5 (Sputnik) Germany has confirmed 1,378 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, with the total count reaching 248,997, the Robert Koch Institute said on Saturday. The death toll has grown by two to 9,324 people within the same period of time. Some 222,900 people have recovered since the start of the outbreak.
