Jammu, June 30 : The sorties of Indian Air Force with 'Bambi Buckets' assisted the local administration, police and army teams in dousing the devastating fire that broke out in Khari area of Banihal Tehsil in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, here on Wednesday. Around one dozen houses completely were gutted in the fire. Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Masrat Ul Islam on Wednesday told UNI that on a requisition, choppers of the Indian Air Force also helped the rescue teams in dousing the fire.

Defence Minister Rajnath reviews Armed Forces preparedness to tackle cyclone Tauktae

New Delhi, May 17 (UNI) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday held a meeting to review the preparedness and assistance being provided by the Armed Forces to civil authorities to tackle the situation arising out of Cyclone Tauktae, through video conferencing. During the meeting, Mr Singh was informed that 11 Indian Navy Diving Teams have been kept on standby in case of any request from authorities of affected states whereas 12 flood rescue teams and medical teams have been earmarked for immediate response and deployment.

New Delhi, May 10 (UNI) Intensifying its efforts to aid the civil administration by ferrying oxygen containers and medical supplies, the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Monday said that as on early hours of May 10 its aircrafts has carried out 534 sorties from various parts of the country, airlifting 336 oxygen containers of total capacity of 6,420 Metric Tonnes (MT) and other medical supplies and equipment. The cities covered are Jamnagar, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Panagarh, Indore, Ranchi, Agra, Jodhpur, Begumpet, Bhubaneshwar, Pune, Surat, Raipur, Udaipur, Mumbai, Lucknow, Nagpur, Gwalior, Vijayawada, Baroda, Dimapur and Hindan.
