Mumbai, Oct 8 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Thursday spurted by 455 pts to 40,334.76 on the strength of Technology, IT, Telecom and Bankex stocks amid positive global peers. The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too advanced by 124 pts to 11,863. The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 40,393.98 and 40,183.87 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 11,880.55 and 11,820.20 respectively.
The Mid Cap moved up by 0.77 pc and Small Cap by 0.52 pc.
In 30 scrips, 22 advanced while 8 declined.
The gainers were TCS by 4.29 pc to Rs 2854.75, HCL Technologies by 4.24 pc to Rs 862.85, Infosys by 3.20 pc to Rs 1100.65, Tech Mahindra by 2.53 pc to Rs 868.95 and IndusInd Bank by 2 pc to Rs 633.15.
The losers were Titan by 1.04 pc to Rs 1240.20, ITC by 0.68 pc to Rs 168.35, Asian Paints by 0.59 pc to Rs 2091.55 and L and T by 0.44 pc to Rs 883.75.
