Arunachal Pradesh’s Covid-19 case tally mounts to 6,692

Itanagar, Sep 17 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Covid-19 case tally rose to 6,692 with detection of 221 new cases of infections. Of new positive cases, Itanagar Capital Complex (ICC) reported the highest at 98, followed by Papum Pare 33 and Lower Subansiri 13, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services (DHS).

Twelve each cases were reported from East Siang and Changlang, 11 from West Siang, nine from Lower Dibang Valley (LDV), eight from East Kameng, six from Tirap, five each from Tawang and Anjaw, three each from Upper Siang and Longding, two from Leparada and one from Upper Subansiri, it said.

Out of the 98 cases from ICC, 30 reported from paid quarantine testing centre here, 24 from TRIHMS, Naharlagun, 23 from Heema Hospital here, eight from Niba Hospital, seven from CCC-SOA here, four from Central jail, Jully, and two from SQF, Lekhi.

Heema Hospital management has decided to shut down its services including OT and emergency services from September 17 to 22 .

Seventeen among 33 cases from Papum Pare are GREF personnel, one detected from Kimin check gate, sven from Hollongi check gate, another seven from Gumto check gate (in which four belong to Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), two are APP personnel and one is from Dibrugarh) and one is reported from Sagalee CHC.

The RGU’s administration in a notification issued on Wednesday announced to close the varsity’s campus till September 22, to contain the spread of virus.

All the on-going online examination suspended till September 27. The examination process will resume from September 28, the notification reads.

Of 13 cases from Lower Subansiri, 12 are primary contacts of positive case detected earlier and one is reported from Flu clinic, Hapoli.

Barring 46, all the patients are asymptomatic.
