Sharjah, Oct 9 (UNI) Shimron Hetmyer 45 off 24 and Marcus Stoinis 39 off 30 powered DC to 184/8 in 20 over against RR in the 23rd match of the IPL at Sharjah Cricket Stadium here on Friday.

Earlier, RR won the toss and opted to bowl. DC openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan provided a good start, but their partnership lasted for shorter duration as duo added just 12 runs for first wicket.

Dhawan was the first to go after being caught and bowled by Archer his first wicket in a Powerplay this year. After Dhawan, DC wickets kept falling in form of Prithvi Shaw 19 off 10 (2 fours, 1 six), skipper Shreyas Iyer run out at 22 off 18 (4 fours). DC lost 3 wickets inside 50 runs.

Rishabh Pant was run out in 10th over at 5 off 9, Marcus Stoinis bowled by Tewatia at 39 off 30 (4 sixes) in 14th over.

There was 30 run partnership between Iyer and Shaw for second wicket, 29 run stand for fourth wicket Stoinis and Pant and 30 runs for fifth wicket between Stoinis and Hetmyer.

However, Harshal Patel and Hetmyer valuable 40 run stand for sixth wicket was broken by Kartik Tyagi removing Hetmyer at 45 off 24 balls (1 four, 5 sixes) in 17th over.

DC were 6 down at 149. Towards the end of the innings Harshal and Axar chipped in 32 runs for seventh wicket, but Axar was bowled by Tye in 18.6 over. Axar 17 came in 8 balls (2 fours, 1 six). DC were 8 down after losing wicket of Harshal Patel in 19.4 over at 16 off 15 balls (1 four).

Rabada (2) and Ashwin (0) remained not out.
