Leopard dies due to electrocution in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 6 (UNI) A leopard died due to electrocution in the frontier district of Kupwara in north Kashmir, official sources said on Sunday. They said a leopard entered village Lontha in the border town of Karnah in Kupwara from the nearby forest last night. However, he got in contact with a live wire when he was passing near an electric transformer.

The wild animal died instantly, they said. The villagers alleged that the Power Development Department (PDD) had failed to erect some fencing around the transformer installed on the ground.
