Mumbai, Sep 3 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Thursday remained positive for the third consecutive day, as it surged by 79 pts to open bat 39,165 on the strength of IT, Consumer Durable and Technology stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too rose by 31 pts to 11,566.50.
The Sensex registered intraday high and low at 39,236.36 and 39,061.79 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered intraday high and low at 11,584.95 and 11,534.95 respectively.
The Mid Cap moved up by 0.67 pc and Small Cap by 1 pc.
In 30 scrips, 16 advanced while 4 declined.
The gainers were Tech Mahindra by 2.39 pc to Rs 752.55, Infosys by 2.32 pc to Rs 945.50, TCS by 2.26 pc to Rs 2316, Titan by 1.63 pc to Rs 1139.95 and HCL Technologies by 1.25 pc to Rs 710.75.
The losers were ICICI Bank by 1.48 pc to Rs 386.45, Powergrid by 1.16 pc to Rs 179.20, Bharti Airtel by 1.15 pc to 544.10 and Reliance industries by 0.89 pc to Rs 2109.65.
