SSR Case: NCB raids Rhea, Showik Chakraborty’s Mumbai house to probe drug link

Mumbai, Sep 4 (UNI) Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided the residence of Rhea and Showik Chakraborty on Friday morning in connection with the drug trafficking probe linked to the case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.

Another team of the anti-narcotics agency also raided the residence of Sushant Singh Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda.

Search operations are currently underway, NCB officials said.

Sources said the NCB is conducting searches under the provisions of the NDPS Act.

NCB Deputy Director KPS Malhotra told media, “It’s a procedural matter. That is what we are following. It is being done at Rhea’s and Samuel Miranda’s house.”

The role of Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik and Samuel Miranda came under the scanner of the NCB after their purported mobile phone chats and messages indicated procurement, transportation and consumption of drugs.

Following this, the NCB filed a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act based on ED report.
