Janata Dal (United) party sacked Shyam Rajak, Industries Minister of Bihar from the party due to his involvement in the anti-party activities, said by the Rajeev Ranjan, party’s spokesperson on Sunday.
Ranjan told ANI that, Shyam Rajak’s recent actions were nothing less than an act of indiscipline. He was involved in anti-party activities. So the party decided to take this action against him. Nobody is above the party. I welcome the party’s decision of expelling him.
Months before the Assembly elections, JD (U) party expelled Rajak on Sunday.
According to Sources, Rajak is likely to join the Rashtriya Janata Dal.
There was strong buzz going around in Patna that Rajak is set to resign from the JD (U) party’s post of minister and as a MLA on Monday and likely to get back to his previous party, RJD. The decision of expelling Rajak from the cabinet today was taken more as a face of saving exercise by the CM Nitesh Kumar, knowing that exit of Rajak from ministership could have earned political points, sources said.
Sources added, RJD is in touch with the Rajak, who is unhappy with Ashok Choudhary’s entry into the party recently and with the JD(U) leadership.
Former President of Congress, Bihar, Choudhary is now a minister in coalition government of JDU & BJP in the state. On 28th June, Rajak in conversation with ANI via phone said that, he wanted to quit politics. However, it seems he changed his plan after leaders of JDU and BJP party met him.
