PM asks Himachal youth to choose BJP

Shimla/Mandi, Sep 24 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday urged the youths in Himachal Pradesh to vote for the BJP, saying the Central and state governments are doing a lot to provide them employment.

SKUAST Jammu Signed MoU With HFRI Shimla

Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Himalayan Forest Research Institute (HFRI) Shimla, H.P. The MoU was exchanged between Prof. J. P. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST Jammu and Dr. Sandeep Sharma Director, HFRI Shimla for the betterment of respective organizations. Himalayan Forest Research Institute (hereinafter to be referred as HFRI), Panthaghati, Shimla is one of the nine Regional Research Institutes of Indian Council of Forestry Research & Education (ICFRE), Dehradun, Uttrakhand, an Autonomous Body under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India.

HIMFED to sell Ambuja, Ultra Tech Cement

Shimla, June 28 : The Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Marketing and Consumers' Federation Ltd (HIMFED) on Monday decided to sold Ambuja and Ultra Tech Cement. The decision was taken during a meeting of the Board of Directors of HIMFED here. Managing Director of HIMFED Gyan Sagar Negi and its Director, along with the Board Members, approved various agenda of the federation, said Vice-President of HIMFED Rakesh Verma. He said in the coming days, Ambuja and UltraTech Cement will also be sold in HIMFED godowns, which will facilitate people in far-flung areas to buy cement.

Justice Amjad Sayeed takes over as CJ of Himachal HC

Shimla, June 23 : Justice Amjad A Sayeed of the Bombay High Court took over as the Chief Justice of the Himachal High Court on Thursday. HP Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered the oath of office and secrecy to him at 9:30 am at Raj Bhavan, Shimla. Thereafter, he was given a guard of honor in the High Court premises. Earlier, a Full Court Welcome Address was also organized in the High Court itself.

Shimla, May 6 : The Parliamentary Consultative Committee meeting for the Ministry of Steel was held here Friday to brainstorm on the topic “Transition towards Green Steel” under the Chairmanship of the Union Steel Minister, Ram Chandra Prasad Singh. The Chairman urged upon the stakeholders to come together in development of a time bound action plan and concerted efforts for lowering of the emissions from the steel industry in line with the commitments made so that production of Green Steel can be fulfilled and promote “Atmanirbhar Bharat”. In this meeting, fruitful discussions were held between the Members of the Committee with the senior officials from Ministry of Steel and senior officials & experts from the steel industry, on the present scenario and the way forward for promoting the transition towards Green Steel.

‘Shot that Leopard’ film to be screened at historic Gaiety Theatre

Shimla, Nov 25(UNI) This capital town living in the horror of prowling leopards after hunting of two kits in span of last three months, will witness the screening of ' Shot that Leopard' during three days international film festival at the historic gaiety theatre here, it was announced on Thursday. The Director of the festival Pushp Raj Thakur said that seventh edition of Intl Film Festival being held at Gaiety Theatre here from November 26 to 28 will see the screening of 'Shoot That Leopard', even while the people of town are living under its terror.

HP: Admin prohibited movement of traffic on Darcha-Leh road

Shimla, Nov 2 : Lahaul Spiti district administration imposed prohibition on the movement traffic between Darcha-Leh National Highway after snowfall on high passes, here on Tuesday. Spokesperson of District Administration Lahaul Spiti said that on an advisory of October 31 orders have been issued restricting the movement of vehicles and public on Darcha Leh road due to heavy snowfall. However, it is being seen that tourists staying in hotels, guest houses and homestays of the valley are trying to go beyond Darcha to Baralacha etc. despite the road being closed for travel.

HP: Snowfall in high reaches, 3 trekkers die in snowstorm

Shimla. Oct 25 (UNI) Normal life was disrupted in the state during last 24 hours after continued unseasonal rain and snowfall occurred in most places in the state. Three trekkers belonging to Mumbai and Goa died after missing in the heavy snowstorm in Kinnaur district, district administration said. The MeT Office said Gondla in Lahaul Spiti recorded 15 cm snow, Hansa & Khadrala( Shimla district five cm each and Keylong three cm.
