New Delhi, Sep 8(UNI) In a shocking and horrifying incident, an elderly woman aged around 90 years was allegedly sexually assaulted and beaten up by a 33-year-old man, who has been arrested at Chhawla, Najafgarh in Delhi, the police said.
The accused is a resident of village Rewla Khanpur. After meeting the victim, DCW chief Swati Maliwal said, ‘ from a six-months-old child to a 90-year-old woman, no one is safe.’
The people involved in such acts are worst than animals she said adding that woman of such age has faced such assault. ‘ I have met the victim and in the fight for her justice we will be with her shoulder to shoulder and in every circumstance the one responsible behind this must be hanged in six months ‘ Maliwal said.
The DCW team has met the woman at her residence and helping put with proceedings. It is said that , as per the victim she was waiting outside her house for the milk-man when in the evening around 1700 hours, and an unknown person came up to her and said that the milk man will not be coming today , and he will take her to him.
The person allegedly took her to Rewla Khanpur farm and raped her , and also assautled her physically as she tried to oppose.
It was when other people from the village heard the woman’s cries they approached the place and helped her, and nabbed the accused and called the police.
The victim was taken to the hospital and her medical tests were conducted , and in the medical reports , it is clearly mentions of injury on her body and private parts, the DCW said.
