Jammu, October 05 ; One day training programme entitled “Transfer of Technology for Management of Alternate Bearing Problem through Hormonal Intervention in Mango Varieties at Jammu Region” was organized at Rajenderpura, Distt – Samba, by NABARD Jammu and
Division of Plant Physiology, Faculty of Basic sciences under the aegis of SKUAST – Jammu. In this training, farmers from villages Rajenderpura, Simbalbali and farmers from nearby villages participated. Dr. Rakesh Kumar, I/C Regional Research Sub Station for sub tropical fruits, Raya,
welcome the august gathering and delivered a talk on challenges of fruit production in Kandi Belt. Mr Shailesh Sharma, DDM- Samba, NABARD – Jammu and Kashmir delivered a lecture on various
programmes launched by NABARD in favour of farmers. Dr Bhav Kumar Sinha, PI of the project, delivered a talk on “How to prepare pits near the tree trunk for treatment in Mango orchards” and gives training for orchard management. Farmer Mr. Baldev Raj discussed his experiences and benefits of the treatment of paclobutrazol in the mango orchard.
The farmers participated in the training expect such type of trainings in the future by the scientist of the Division of Plant Physiology. At the end of the programme, Dr Bhav Kumar Sinha, PI of the project expressed the vote of thanks to the participants, experts and the people involved in the training programme.
