Panaji, Jan 6 (UNI) Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Rajesh Patnekar on Wednesday said that Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will felicitate five legislators during his visit to the State Legislative Assembly as part of the ‘Legislator’s Day’ event on January 9.
Addressing a press conference at Assembly Complex at Porvorim, near the city, the Speaker said five legislators who had contributed to the state in their stints as MLAs had been shortlisted.
Among the lawmakers who would be felicitated by the Vice President were former Union Minister of State for External Affairs Eduardo Faleiro and former Chief Minister and sitting Congress MLA Pratapsingh Rane.
Mr Patnekar said the Vice President had been invited to address legislators this year, as part of the 60th anniversary celebration of Goa’s liberation from Portuguese rule in 1961.
On the upcoming assembly session which begins from January 25, 201, the Speaker said the session would being with the inaugural address by Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and end on January 29, 2021.
He said in all 751 starred and unstarred questions had been received from MLAs.
