Covid : 45 new cases in UT in past 24 hours

Puducherry, Oct 29 : The fresh Coronavirus cases recorded in the Union Territory on Friday was as same as what was registered on Thursday, with 45 COVID-19 cases have been reported since the last 24 hours, ending at 10 AM this morning, taking the infection tally to 1,27,936 and death toll remained at 1,857 with no fatalities reported during the period.
According to the Covid-19 status released by the health department here, of the 2,918 swab sample tests conducted yesterday, the test reports of 45 persons came out positive.
As many as 28 new cases were reported in Puducherry region, seven in Karaikal region, one in Yanam region and nine in Mahe region.
In the last 24 hours, 52 patients were discharged from hospitals and 24 of them were from Puducherry region, 22 from Karaikal region and six from Mahe region.
Presenty, 64 patients were being treated at hospitals in Puducherry region, nine each in Karaikal and Mahe regions and two in Yanam region.
In all the four regions of the UT, 362 persons tested Covid positive were undergoing treatment in home isolation.

So far, 1,27,936 persons are infected by Coronavirus and of which 1,25,633 patients were treated and discharged, 1,857 people died and there 446 active cases now.
The test positivity rate in the UT is 1.54 per cent, case fatality rate is 1.45 per cent and the recovery rate is 98.20 per cent.
About 11,24,257 doses of Covid Vaccine were administered so far to the healthcare workers, frontline workers and the general public in the Union Territory.
